Who did these modifications on a Leupold?

I thought Ron Hoehn was doing that on Sightrons at one time.

    International Benchrest bench rules

I don't think there is any design approved or disapproved. Some older ranges still have wooden benches/legs. If benches are not stable, shooters would probably not show up, or spend their day b!tching about them.

Another Shooter Has Left The Range

Hal Drake died March 22, 2023 from his on-going struggle with kidney disease. He was a serious competitor, he will be missed.

    Question About NightForce Optics

In my opinion, there aint a better benchrest scope available if you can work with the weight, which usually isn't a problem for a HV score gun.

    Cleaning Rods?

I bought Bore Tech rods when they came out, and after a short time the coating came off. I called them, they would not replace them. Never again. I have a pair of coated Dewey's that are close to 30 years old and the coating is still there.

    Case forming question

I shot a 6.5/06AI in long range for a while, and I used 30/06 brass. Necked them down then ran them in the 6.5/06AI sizer until I had a snug bolt close. Then fire formed.

    turning mandrels from rebar

I'll have to agree with GeneT, the rebar I have turned was the crap-y-est steel I've ever seen. Maybe in the NW they make it better.

    Newbie questions

Well, there are many top shooters shooting RR guns. I've never seen where they were handicapped by it. You get one of those cartridge holders sitting right next to the loading port, and with an ejector, you can be just as fast.

    Newbie questions

I would have bought that rifle if it were a left port. Between the stock and the Farley Firefly action, that would be a smooth rifle.

Benchrest Heavy Class and Tapered barrels (information required)

I don't know the rules of World Championships, evidently they don't care about barrel taper. But anyone from this country with a HV gun will have a tapered barrel.

Benchrest Heavy Class and Tapered barrels (information required)

Both NBRSA and IBS Heavy Varmint class requires a tapered barrel. If you want to shoot a straight barrel, go unlimited class.

    Bolt In Bolt Torque

The screws should come up to 'tight' very quickly. Here is the key, if the bedding is right, screws should not need any"work" to get tight. They should come to a hard stop, and that's it. Same with proper scope rings, same with putting a barrel on. When it's right, you know it.

    Bolt In Bolt Torque

I use a real sophisticated method of holding the small end of the allen wrench between my thumb and forefinger and tighten.

    Let's Give Credit

I think Hunter put forth a lot of effort and time to run the thread about the benchresters that have left the range. Info kept coming in and he updated well. I haven't seen such a concise list made before. Good job on this, whoever you are.

    2000 Mules

I think after all this, we know where "hunter" comes from and believes. He has a photo over his bed of Klaus Schwab. I think everyone else is on the other side. Lets treat him as such, and go on the way we need to.

    2000 Mules

I hear Elizabeth Warren and Barack Obama saying the exact same thing years ago.......tell me I'm wrong. "You didn't build that"...................full blown democrap.
