Abintx, I agree that I have plenty of bullet pull! Before loading the cases the necks show .2595 after sizing with the .2590 bushing, I sometimes have tried the .258" bushing. I assume springback is what gives the extra .0005". It is after the case is fired that the bullets don't re-enter...

Back to the thread now... So as nearly as I can measure I'm sizing my necks less than .002" and only 1/2 way down the neck at that. The portion of the case body directly behind the shoulder is also seeing abut .002" reduction, while the case head above the web about .001" What I am thinking...

I am using some old Sako .220 Russian brass which hasn't yet been fireformed. Should it be annealed somewhere during the lifespan, or is this really a waste of my energy. Previous cases lasted a very long time and I had had no issues. Do most competitive shooters anneal their cases now...

Berrymans Chem-Dip, carb and parts cleaner was the last soaking and apparently penetrated the goo.

By all means use a bore guide, and don't over clean the barrel... meaning if it is still shooting accurately, why clean? As to the oder if it bothers you use a fan or clean the rifle outdoors. We all shouldn't be breathing that stuff anyways.
