    Inexpensive front rest

    For varmint shooting and casual bench shooting, am I better off with the Caldwell Fire Control or the Sinclair lightweight rest? They are both abou $175. If Caldwell, the full rest or just the front rest? Thanks again to all for the help.

    When mounting and bore sighting a new scope, do you set the elevation knob in the middle of its range or dial it all the way down to give you maximum elevation when needed?     Beginners rest from $150 to $200

    Thanks. I've narrowed it down to the Caldwell Fire Control, the Hart Varminter or Sinclair Basic or BR rest. All are about $200. Any opinions?

    I will be using the rest for informal target shooting and varmint hunting. The rifle is the Savage LRPV in 223. Can anyone recommend a good front rest for these purposes in my price range? Thanks.
