    An old 30 W. C. F. bullet

Bill, Finding old things is really a kick and I have always had a real interest in local history. Once I was walking down a ridge with a gentle slope that I could put a road on for logging. There were many old trees on the ridge that were scared about the same distance up from the ground. I...

    An old 30 W. C. F. bullet

Bill I used to wander around in the woods and get paid for it. While doing so I developed a habit of picking up expended shell casings. Some of them I saved if they weren't common. One of them is a 38 55 introduced by the Ballard Rifle Company. Sometimes I would find a complete round ejected by...

Did you really knell in front of your rifle project? I was an altar boy in a Lutheran church when I was a kid so I know a little bit.:) Mort

    Mini Mauser project

I like your homemade rifle stand...using what you have on hand. I also noticed your Ohaus powder measure. Mine is a RCBS Ohaus that I have had for several decades. It has seen a lot of use and still ticking. Would never consider buying an electronic one. Mort

we need a humor forum.....until then

A Minnesota Joke A Dane, A Norwegian, and a Swede made a bet about who could spend the most time in a stinky pigsty. In two minutes the Norwegian came out followed the Dane. Ten minutes later all the pigs came running out

The NRA: Fake News Vs. Throw the Bums Out.

La Pierre We used to live in the boondocks when I worked in the woods. When friends came to see us we would put them up for a couple of days. If you don't see them very often the goodbyes when they leave can take awhile. That was the situation when the phone rang and I picked up. The person on...

how can i improve the finish of my bbl threading

I was taking a machinist night class at the shipyard and I was told to use 29.5 for threading. They didn't have any small lathes except in the tool room, so size had nothing with what we were taught. I always used HSS for threading and ground tools for doing OD and ID work. As stated before the...

    South Dakota Bill

Just read that these folks are putting together a bill that would make the state exempt from some federal laws. It covers land use, gun control laws among others. Mort

    We Haven't Had A Good Car Thread In A While...........My '67 Chevelle

The Simpler Life Jackie Racing was much simpler back then but for me, it was also a distraction. I didn't understand the politics and opposition to the war and everything else that was now wrong with our country. I didn't need someone to thank me for doing 4 years in the Corps but I didn't...

Interesting day at the gun store

Getting Started My first press was a Herters. It was a big clunky thing with a heavy handle that would sometimes come down by itself. It came with a 30/06 die and a thick catalog that made for some interesting reading. My 722 .222 was glass bedded with a Herters kit. Brings back memories of...

    Tomball Gun Club Revamping Range.

Jackie, I don't know who insures your club but when I was shooting trap we got a good deal from the NRA. Crushed rock is easier to walk on than pebbles. If you get enough fines with the rock it will pack in real tight. Just a thought. Mort

    Primers in stock here

Thanks, Al. The other thought I had was the hazard fee the store would charge if they did ship. Could raise the price considerably. If the opportunity comes around again I would be interested in 1000 just to try. If not no problem. I'm sure you have better things to do. Mort

Al, I think I will give these a try. If you are down that way again I'm in for 2000. Do you still have my address? Mort If the store ships I can order from them. Thanks
