    aluminum bedding blocks

Hey Scott; What do you think of this bedding block. On a rifle that Mark Penrod built for me in 2008. I won a few matches in Lincoln with it. That was before I forgot how to shoot. The stock weighs 5# 9.5 oz. The rifle weighs 12# 14oz. Let me know when you are coming to Lincoln, I'll bring it...

Tell Dean that Wayne in Yankton SD says Happy Birthday. He came to a match in Yankton many years ago and taught us how to shoot. Thanks!

    40X Rimfire Feed Ramp

Yes they do. I bend mine enough so they don't move but stay just free of the bolt. I had one move out too far in a match and couldn't close the bolt. Lesson learned. Some of my 40Xs with ptg bolts I made fillers out of delrin with the inside surface radiused to clear the bolt. Just a light...

    40X Rimfire Feed Ramp

It is possible to make it feed easier. You have to modify the bolt and make a new ramp. It might be possible to just make a new ramp but you are limited to what you can do because of the bolt design. I made single shot adapters for my repeaters but the bolts were redesigned..Wayne

North American Rimfire Postal Matches- A New way to have fun!

This would be considered an unlimited class rifle and one piece rest. The rifle weighs a little over 18 lbs and the rest is 30 lbs. If I shot the matches this is what I would use. Wayne

New ASSA F-Class Smallbore National Records

I just have to ask. What rifle was he shooting? Really impressive shooting regardless of what brand. I'm too old to shoot anything but benchrest but am very impressed with what can be accomplished by prone shooters. Wayne

    Anyone Join Club Lapua?

Lapua doesn't need a bigger mailing list, they just need to manufacture more good ammo.

    Rem 40X Firing Pin Travel

I don't know what the factory location is for the trigger mount pins, but if you can find it that is what I would use. That way you can use either a factory or PTG bolt. You will also be able to use any Remington 700 aftermarket trigger. Vary from the factory spec and you could end up with big...

    Rem 40X Firing Pin Travel

Most of my 40Xs have PTG bolts so that is what i measured. After shortening the firing pins to the right length I had to install 30# springs to make them fire reliably. I think the standard springs are 26# but not sure. Wayne

    Rem 40X Firing Pin Travel

Measuring from the cocked position to the front of the firing pin in fired position it seems to be about .175 of an inch. Not a very scientific answer but close as I can get Wayne

    Rem 700 Bolts

I don't think there is anything wrong with factory Rem 700 bolts. A friend and I had 5 of 9 PTG bolts from a later batch that came off. The solder or braze whatever it is was just plain bad. Drilled and tapped them and no problems since. Wayne

    40x

I'm confused because it is a .17 now. That's smaller than a .22 is it not? The chamber might be bigger but the rifling is not.

    40x

Yes it can be done, but getting the barrel rebored and regrooved would be very expensive. Wayne

    Check this out

Very interesting. I didn't see any one piece rests - all front rest and bag. Tuners looked a little different too. The rifle at 1:03 was really interesting. Large diameter receiver and different forend mounting system. More ideas to play with. Wayne
