The powder Makes it easier to get more sand in the bag. It "lubricates" the sand. Be prepared to add more sand a couple of times the first year you use the bag. The new fill will settle quite a bit, even w/ powder.

Yes, you are doing way too much screwing around. Use the lighter scope, get rid of the weights and shoot a LV all the way thru. Or else get another action, stock, etc., and build a dedicated HV and have a HV and a LV that you do not have to make changes in.

The only way you are going to have issues is if you leave the rifle sit out in the sun. Even a white rifle will get hot in direct sunlight. David
