    Life is good!

The 25cal has been my go to caliber for Antelope for over 50 years. Took my first 10 or so with a 257 Weatherby that my Dad bought in 1962. I still have it and recently sent it back to them to be rebarreled. They also changed out the trigger and bolt shroud. I can't wait to pass it on to my 2yr...

I must have missed where you posted the lot numbers of yours. Do you mind posting them again. I have been sitting on a 8lb just for quite a while and would like to know what to expect.

    Precision Shooting

I have virtually every issue from 1986 thru 2008. They were a gift from a neighbor who saved everything. I would love to donate them to someplace that would digitize them or put them in a library of some kind!

LT 32 anyone have new up dates

Can you ballpark a starting load for the .222. I called them today and they said to just try and extrapolate the data based on a .223 load. I am shooting a factory BDL .

    Carbon Ring

I have used it. It worked about the same as most any other products. However i would dispute the claim that it "dissolves" carbon. I don't think anything dissolves carbon. Rather that the mechanical action of a brush will score it and allow the chemicals to get under it and lift it. JMO

280 Ackley Imp with a Tuner

Thanks Al I will remember that. Actually it just opens up a little so I don't worry about it. It has always shot "minute of Elk" and for a hunting rifle I can live with it.

280 Ackley Imp with a Tuner

For what it's worth I have a ruger m77 in 280 Ackley that I use 60.5 gr of IMR 7828 w/150gr Nosler partition. Avg speed is right at 3000fps and accuracy is .5 for 3 shots on a good day. Interesting thing is the same load of RL 22 is almost exactly identical in speed and group but varies from day...

Best bang for buck .223-.243 varminter

Whatever you do . DO NOT waste your money on a POS Tikka. They have a very fast twist barrel and a very short magazine so it is wasted twist. I had a T-3 Varminter and although it shot OK it was a designed POS. couldn't load anything anywhere near what the barrel wanted. BTW the BEST rifle I...

    Savage Benchrest Rifle

How did you end up with a Left Bolt Right Port. Did Fred convert it for you or did you order it from Savage that way

    TC Icon

I have owned 4 so far. Unfortunately not because I wanted to. The first one came from the factory with some pretty bad pitting in the last inch of the barrel. It went back, the second one had a groove cut in the lands 1/8 of an in back from the crown it went back, the third one MORE pitting it...

Best bang for buck .223-.243 varminter

No. It's not. Buy the Savage you will not be sorry. I've owned or "set up" close to 50 of them and only had one that was not a shooter(couldn't get it down to .5 groups)

    Gun Slick Bore Foam Cleaner

I also have used it for at least 3 yrs. I love the stuff. I run a couple of patches of any other cleaner throught the barrel first and then foam my barrel with the gunslick, and walk away for at least a couple of hours if not overnight. on a good barrel the most I have had to do is repeat and...

    Lying

Worst part about all the lying that goes on is when someone actually does pull a miracle shot out of his a$$ he doesn't want anybody to hear about it cuz they will for sure think he's lying anyway. I was hunting Antelope a few years ago with a friend who's a very good shot. I watched him shoot...

    Jb bore paste

Max I tend to agree with you on the inherent accuracy of the .223 vs the 22.250. The point of my whole post was I got very lucky and ended up with a 22-250 that was VERY accurate for that caliber. If you still have the aforementioned 220 swift you might try sending it to SSS they can do wonders...

    Jb bore paste

"STOCK" action,"STOCK" barrel. that qualifies as pretty much stock. Definately a lot more "STOCK" than someone using just the action and calling anything "STOCK". My point was that even with a POS 1/2 worn out "FACTORY" barrel the rifle still shoots lights out. Personally I don't think...
