    6 Dasher for 600 & 1000 yards

First, why a 22 lb rifle? You limit yourself to the HG class with anything over 17 lbs. A 17 LB Dasher is very managable, especialy if you use a break (which is legal for IBS HG). And if you aready have a LG, why only 22lbs? I have been watching a few Dasher/BRX guys kicking butt in the HG...

    bushing bolt

Like I said...i think I will stay with the 6mm, as I have a 6.5 WSSM. The XC looks good, and depending on the age of the artical/page on the 6br website....$32.00 per 100 for brass is CHEAP. Reamers look like they are available, as are dies. I have TONS of H4350!! I just briefly looked at the...

    bushing bolt

I just shoot em...kinda! Don't have a clue how to build em....and I wasn't sure what "bushing the bolt" was......I just knew that I had had it done to my first dasher. I wasn't sure if I needed to UNDO it. :o I really didn't want to hear 500 to 700 rounds.....the big ass cheapskate in me is...

    bushing bolt

I am going to rebarrel my 700 SA from a dasher (the exploding gun) to something with a little more boiler room.......6MM rem/6-284/6Rem AI/243AI.....something......not sure yet. I have had the bolt bushed for the dasher. Will this be a hinderance to a larger case? Also.....236 or 237 bore...

How far can you see bullet holes?

If you are talking an "F" class match, or using an "F" class target for practice you can forget about seeing your bullet holes...unless you stick em way out there in the white!!!. I have been to a dozen or so 300/600 "F" class shoots and have NEVER seen any of my holes unless I hit the white...

I just booked a room at the Super 8 in Bridgport. They said they had lots of rooms. I am not sure I am going, but it is eaiser to cancel a room than to find one at the last min. if I decide to go. Now, from the moocher in me.........anyone have a place on a table under a canopy I could...

    Bad lot of Bergers??

If I had bashed Berger, you would KNOW it, because I would have said that Berger sucks, I am never buying Berger again, and that we should all boycott Berger bullets forever. I didn't....not even close!! As far as lot numbers....I NEVER EXPECT to get the same lot numbers.....that is why I...

    Bad lot of Bergers??

Exactly....the bullets themselves were not bad...I seperated them to .001 bearing serface, and no box of 50 had more that .002 differance in bearing serface......the rest went into PRACTICE AMMO for whoever.......I DID NOT give them to my kid to shoot (ALF :D ) in the match. Also I havn't...

    Bad lot of Bergers??

Matt, When you buy 300 bullets, you get THREE BOXES OF BULLETS.....ALL THREE WERE DIFFERNT LOT NUMBERS....HOW FRIGGEN SIMPLE IS THAT CONCEPT TO GRASP!!!! You are right ......differnt lot #s means that something could be "different.....THAT'S WHY I MEASURE AND WEIGH MY BULLETS.....ANOTHER...

    Bad lot of Bergers??

To late for that. I mixed all of the bullets together. Like I said..the first box measured from +004 to -014 (that is a twenty thou spred in bearing serface). I left my original "zero" for the next two boxes. The second and third box were ALL at -.009, .010, .011 and -.012...four thou spred...

    Powder scales..........a new thread

Are you serious.......A kid shoots 3 sub 1.5 inch groups....and you are doubting if he is "actualy doing it"!!! Man...you gotta be DA KING of LR shooting if a 1.5 agg don't impress you!!

    Bad lot of Bergers??

I guess I don't consider the bullets themself bad. The first lot went right in with the second and third. I seperated in .001 incruments. like I said...all of the bullets from box 2 and three were within .004. There were also some from the first box that measured up the same as box two and...

    Bad lot of Bergers??

I decided to buy another 300 Berger 6mm 105 vld-H to finish up load development on my new dasher. I wanted to make sure they were going to be "the one" before buying a LARGE quanity. Silly me forgot to ask for all the same lot number!!!! I use the Bill Shehane system and measure ojive to...

What powders for 210 Bergers in .300 WSM?

H4350 and H4350SC.....I don't think there is any diff between the regular and the SC....I have never fired them in the same group, but i shoot them in the same gun with the same brass, primers, and charge weight and see no difference. To be honest, I have never tried anyting else. :o

    Speed worth it???

My first year in IBS I shot a 300 WBY/210 bergers VERY slow....under 2750 FPS....73 g. (maybe 74g...can't remember) of RL25. I had a 6 fps ES and did well with that tube that year. I found loads in that tube that shot well at over 3000 fps, but the ES was around 40 FPS. Speed is good...but...

barrel length for maximum velosity in 6.5x47L

Simple...shorter tubes are easier to tune, stiffer, and are thus more accurate that long wippy tubes. Both short range and long range shooters have pretty much found the speed/accuracy happy place....short range guys are willing to give up a little speed for more accuracy, and LR guys are...

    Powder scales..........a new thread

So I will ask here what I asked in my other scale post.....Those of you with high end electrics.....do you need to warm them up for hours/leave them on, or just plug and play? Do they need to be on a "60 lb or so granite serface block", or just set them on my rickity loading bench and git-r-done?
