    What's With " BARREL TUNERS "

For what purpose are you using your rifle? Sure, you can put a tuner on your CZ, but getting it to fit may be difficult depending on which model you have (452 isn't specific enough). Your barrel is most likely too small of diameter for a Harrels or Hoehn tuner. The other side of it is it is...

Any new updates to IR5050 Rules announced during nationals?

No need to be sorry, I do appreciate the feedback. I apologize if I came across negatively. When I referred to suggestions, I was merely referring to all of the feedback provided in Tony's original question to the group. I am really just looking for an official response so I can get an action...

Any new updates to IR5050 Rules announced during nationals?

Could be, but I would like to hear that from Wayne before spending $1300 on a new action. ;) There have been enough 'suggestions' that I figure it is prudent to wait for an official answer. I figure if a change in that area is made, there may also be a slight change in weight to accommodate...

Any new updates to IR5050 Rules announced during nationals?

I was unable to make it to Indoor Nationals, but have been waiting to hear if there were any announcements about possible updates to the rules. In my case, I am waiting to see if the Sporter class will continue to require a repeater action. Doesn't matter to me in the end, but would prefer to...

Is there Such a Thing as a Good Lower Priced Scope ?

A Weaver T36 is probably the best bang/buck for a higher powered scope. Quite a few guys use them for BR.

This could be a dumb question.

I have the same issue as Ed. Closest place is 4.5 hours (Kettlefoot). I still plan to build a Sporter once I know if any rules change. I will make a match there, but with my work travel schedule, it makes it tough. As I have said before, scoring doesn't matter to me. I am basically waiting...

    275 scoring in 50/50

Hi Bob, For me personally, I actually don't care if it changes or not. If I decide to attend a match, so long as everyone is playing by the same rules, I am ok with it. However, I think I am in the minority. Now, would it be nice to have a few changes, sure, but I can only speak about this...

    275 scoring in 50/50

What are you really trying to solve? A couple of observations for me up to this point in the discussion and a conclusion at the end. Sorry for the dissertation, but I am curious what the real willingness to change actually is at the end of the day. It isn't clear to me what question is really...

    275 scoring in 50/50

Tony, Maybe you could do something like bonus points for numbers of X's. 15+ X's gets you 1 point, 20+ X's gets you 2 (or even just 20+X gets you 1 point). It would provide incentive for X's while still keeping the current base score. It does mean a 749 20X would beat a 250 14 X, but maybe...

    275 scoring in 50/50

One more thing I think could help not only IR50/50, but ARA is to also try and coordinate a bit on matches. Look how well the Triple Crown does. I am not saying combine scores, merely hold them on the same weekend at the same location. There will always be those guys that are only interested...

    275 scoring in 50/50

As someone who is looking to build a Sporter so I can shoot in IR5050 once in a while I wouldn't mind seeing a bit of a weight increase to allow for a slightly heavier (better glass) variable scope and allowing single shot actions. I am not sure how much the repeater actions actually influence...

    "The Golden Bull"

Seems to me that is like adding a Mulligan in professional golf. While I am sure it would make 1 competitor happy at any given time, I don't see it as being fair to the others. At the end of the day, crap happens to all of us and we have to learn to accept it. One day it may hurt you when...

    tuners and gunsmiths

No worries. I agree with Tim, $3500 is probably a good number give or take a couple hundred depending on trigger, stock, etc.

    tuners and gunsmiths

Wilbur, I am selling my X3L with Muller 8 groove and Lidgard Stock. I believe we are both in Franklin. Would be glad to let you try it if you would like. Was Smithed by Dan Muller. It's listed in the classifieds right now if you want to see it.
