Here's some interesting info I stumbled onto at hodgdonreloading.com: You can load a 130gr bullet in 270 Winchester with 60gr of H4831 and get 3000+ fps. And you can load the same cartridge and bullet with 14gr of Trail Boss and get 1318 fps. There are obviously ways to safely reduce loads...

You could be correct. Also, gunpowder does not require outside oxygen to burn. I can see where extra oxygen inside a case might change the powder burn characteristics - as in radically accelerate it. The question I posed when I opened this thread concerned accuracy. My second question...

Is rifle accuracy significantly affected when the cartridge is only half-full of powder? As an example, say I want to shoot a 120gr (or so) bullet at 2100 fps from a 28 Nosler case. I assume the case will be significantly less-than full of powder. Could I still get target practice accuracy...

I wondered about the out-of-square bolt face too. But I'm about 100% certain Ted thought about it also, and somewhere has made an allowance for it. Heck...I'd bet the end of my brass is more out of square/inconsistent than his bolt face. The scope rail and rings look rock-solid to me, though...

These manufacturers use monstrous cad files to build their actions - you'd think they could convert those files into animated video that would demonstrate the features and benefits of their products. Instead, they put out low quality video with low quality audio, and very little information...

The tang was bent. The bolt head would drag on the safety as you closed the bolt. Savage replaced the rifle under warranty, but took 8 weeks to do so.

Interesting...maybe that's where Ted (ARC) got his idea for the toroidal lugs? Rather than fight deformation of the lugs, harness it to help with alignment.
