i thought it would be nice to have a collection of rail pics posted together, in one place.

a majority of these pics are "borrowed' from Mike Bryant's website before it was taken down.

i'd love to hear stories or any info about each of these rails. and please feel free to add any others!

Aaron, the top underslung rail gun is John Horn's old rail gun that he built. The second rail gun is James Siebenecher's (sorry about the spelling) rail gun. I think it was built by Jerry Hensler. The ones that the guys made at Seymour made the rail gun into an art form. Cliff Styles had an imagination when it came to rail guns. The blue one with all the stainless bars was made by Cliff Styles as well. I don't know who owns it now. You don't see as many of the one off rail guns at the Nationals. You'll see a lot of Jay Young, Magnum Metals and Bob Dodd rail guns, and some Hasecuster, Powell, and Bill Hall rails. The first three were probably made in more quantity so is logical that you'll see more of them.

AR rail setup.


Here is pictures of what we use at work. Hopefully they upload this time. One is the Young Rail that grips float tube. The other is something we fabricated that grabs the picatinny rails on upper and front tube/handguard. We started using it for SCAR and have shot everything upto M107 on it.

Tom Libby asked me to post this for him.


Carolyn and I shot our CZ rifles for years and when I saw Skip's rail gun I had to have one even though it was not as pretty as most of them but I liked the function. I asked him to make me one and he must have liked me enough to do so.

About two years later I wanted a second top for Carolyn but I know if I asked he might not do it so I took the cowards way out and had Carolyn ask him, I know he could not say no to her and he didn't and made one for her. We have enjoyed them ever since.

I was able to set so far the 10 shot 100 yard record .097 unfortunately it was after Skip passed but I know he was watching.

Next version I moved the sighter cam and fine adjust to the LH side and cut a large Vee in the back of the top housing. I was using a Diamondback drop port.
