View Full Version : Wade Super Seven

I am thinking about having a Rem 700 action chambered in Wade Super Seven. What I have read about is very positive. I would like to get any ones experience or knowledge of this particular shell. From what I have read it seems to be a very fine hunting and target round. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Hi!.....The Wade is a fine cartridge. Back in 1960 I considered it but I choose the 7-06 Ackley to avoid machining the 348 Win. rim. I enjoyed the 7-06 AI for many years using 175 gr. Noslers and 4831 powder. If I were to choose a 7mm today I would choose the Rem 280AI but, if you have your heart set on the Wade, go for it. Good luck!

What weight bullet do you want to shoot?

Who's brass will you use? Is it avaible? What quality is it?

Not all short action cartridges will work in a short action. It has to do with over all length. Unless you are using light chubby bullets, etc.

If it's nostalgia you're after the Super Seven is a old school thumper. It's essentially a 7 WSM just longer by 0.135". 348 brass is sporadically available and you will have to turn rims. Add custom dies and the reamer and you may be better off with the WSM.
