The Rock showed she still had some mean and nasty in her today. The flags were pretty much in constant motion and usually pointing in all directions at once. In VFS cuz'n Roy Darnell got enough bumper on me to get me loose coming off turn 4 and edged by for the win with 250-9x and I came in 2nd w 250-8x, Dale Avery came home 3rd w 249-5x. In Modified Zack (lil Roy) Darnell took 1st with a stellar 249-8x score( he shot a fine 50-3x in match 5) James Davis was 2nd w 246-3x and Brandon Mays came home 3rd with 240-4x. Bill Glaze won factory with a 237-2x score. The points were dropping like flies all day, some of the ugliest targets I've seen in awhile overall but we still had fun. There is 1 more match this year to wrap up the championship for the year. Thanks to all who made the match happen.

Thanks for the post, Steve. Today was a 100 yard indoor VFS match (I'm committed to the series), and 27 October is a 1,000 yard match. Another commitment.

I wish you guys would run one more match, in November. We use to run all winter, remember? January & February never had any conflicts...

I loved the winter league Charles, but that ain't my call. They had mentioned doing one in Nov. if it happens I will post it on here.

I probably should make this a separate post, but now that NBRSA is having VFS sanctioned matches, I wonder if we would get a few more shooters if the Rockingham matches included that?

We'd not want to give up the club format & fellowship we already have, and esp. the multiple classes, but I think -- anyone know for sure? -- we could just run those classes parallel to the NBRSA component of the match. And the "money" aspect could be a cash option or something like that?

Could it be a sort of *required* cash option, in that the Benchrest VFS match is concurrent with the club match? (For the other two people reading this, we charge $20 for the match, and while I don't remember the exact payback to shooters, it's pretty good. I know that 'cause I came in third once, on an off day where there were only about 10 shooters, and still got a few bucks...)

The club furnishes some refreshments for it's small take (& thanks to some unpaid volunteers, Phil, & I'm probably missing a couple names). The match fees do nothing for filling the club's coffers.

I personally think making the matches IBS sanctioned would have a better chance than Nbrsa simply due to the fact that there are a lot more IBS score shooters within the pool of shooters that would be willing to make the trip to the Rock. I have discussed this with the folks that would have to make that decision and I think it is a dead issue in that no one is willing to step up and take the responsibility to run the matches and I certainly understand that as it is quite a committment of time and effort. I just hope that they will continue the club matches as they require the same type of committment and I really appreciate having a place relatively close(90 miles oneway) to shoot. Thanks to Phil, Phillip, Roy, Eric, Zack and all the others that help make these matches happen. They are a great bunch of folks to shoot with and I look forward to every match.
