I have two different bat actions that i have questions about concerning the trigger hangers. What would be the cause of this issue i am going to describe below.
Ok on two of my BAt action the trigger hangers cant be screwed al the way down. i can tighten the from screw on the hanger but the back screw has to be left loose for the trigger to work properly. One jewell trigger and one shilen trigger. why is this? If i tighten both hanger screws the bolt locks up, or the trigger doesnt work. I have spent the better part of 2 hr this morning playing with this. I changed out hangers flipped them around and so on. The shilen is the worst. Does this have to do with the internal spring being to tight or long? what do you think. I will call bruce on monday but it would be nice to get this figured out today myself. Lee

Looks like the sear it to high on the trigger? Can this be ground down? I hate to screw up a 100$ bill. LOL!! Maybe shilen would send me a new sear? Best i can figure anyway. Anyone else have this issue? lee

I would call BAT and take it up with them. It sounds like the hangers have the triggers too high in the actions. They should fit. I have used both brands of triggers on my Viper without problems. I think that they need to make some replacement hangers for you, with the pin holes slightly lower.

I thought these would interchange?

There should be no problem interchanging hangers on BAT actions because they are all the same except the optional DS modified actions which require the DS trigger hanger. The shape of these two are different I don't think you can mix them up, but,.... I have one of each & they are both out of the stock I'll be right back.

The action, hanger and triggers all have some tolerance in manufacturing. If they all missed the same direction, I suppose this could happen.

For a quick fix, you could simply shim under the hanger and then tighten it securely. No, I would not grind the sear on the trigger for this problem. Shims under the screws will do the same thing without permanent modifications.

The hole spacing is different they will not interchange & I can not duplicate your problem with any combination of standard, DS or 3 lug hangers.
I just learned the 3 lug is different from the DS BAT, I was told it was different in post #3 but I know it is now.
I used to shoot a pair of Model M's and always carried an extra trigger pinned to a hanger just in case I had a trigger problem 1000 miles from home, now I have one of everything and if I'm gonna carry spares I'll need a bigger range box.

The hanger for the 3 lug is a bit different than the rest of the bat actions. I have the right hanger installed in the proper actions. The 3 lug with the shilen has to be shimmed to work properly, but with the jewell its fine. I also have a model b that a different jewell trigger is having this same issue. I think its the sear but i am not going to do anything until i talk with Bruce of course. Im sure i already know what he will say though. That being, "Buy a jewell!!" "LOL!!" In all respects the shilen triggers are good triggers. the new shilen triggers are out standing riggers and every bit as good as a jewell, and maybe even better. the older shilen triggers tend to have a little creep, and that is cured with a little sear work. Shilen re worked the production line for there triggers and they are tops. I kid you not. they look and feel better than any Jewell i have! I wont buy any other new trigger than a shilen! Hands down!! Get one and see for yourself! The machining of the new shilen triggers is superb!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lee

By the way the one shilen trigger in question is an older trigger that i have.
The DS hangers are nothing special either. You can use them in any of the appropriate bat actions. they just change the pin travel distance, by flipping them end for end . lee
