Mike,

There is no equivalent ADI powder for IMR8208...from what I can gather from information on this site it seems it's somewhere between Benchmark and Varget.

in Rifle and Handloader some years back on three of those powders.

Wolfe Publishing now has in book form the complete articles from the "Propellant Profiles" column.

I heard a rumor awhile ago that the 8208 was a lot the maker had "on Hand" that wasn't in their paramaters to put in their normal line so it was an imediate fit :), imagine that! Having the Holy Grail in one's hands and not know it or not know what shooters reallllly wanted; boggles the mind!

It seems the order changes depending on whose chart you are looking at. - nhk

In my experience, Burn Rate Charts are worth the price we pay for them.

Mike,

If we had the equivalent here in OZ we would have let you all know when it came over there...from what i've been told it is a powder used for loading military ammo in 223 and maybe 308 by ADI...it is not available to us and not sure if it ever will be.

Jim,

Sorry to spoil your fun...I'm a little slow on the uptake.

Perhaps you could start with Spellcheck or a Dictionary.

There is a an update to quickload that has 8208 included. It's $14.95 plus shipping at NECO. Give Ed Dillon a call and get upgraded.

There has been an unwritten rule on thif forum for years not to rag on others for spelling errors. It has worked great so far.

Thanks Peter. Jim and I shoot together, by the way. I am off to the Australian Supershoot tomorrow, and my good mate from ADI will be there camping on the range with us. I will ask him about that 'rumour' concerning the 8208 that they make here.
You may be aware that this powder is NOT sold in Australia, and despite requests to get the company to release some to the local market they have shown no interest at all.
