I am trying to figure out whether a scope I have is an early NightForce or something else. On the side of the scope turret area it has the words Night Force Custom Superb 15x56 in yellow. The word "Night" is in cursive script and the word "Force" is all caps print. The scope has an illuminated reticle that appears to be the same as a current NightForce NP-2DD without the secondary 500 yard dot at the bottom. The scope is serialized and made in Japan. It has an adjustable objective lens (not side focus) and a 30mm tube. It is fixed power. Any ideas?

Doesn't look good. Google Night Force Custom Superb & you'll get plenty of sites with information like this:

Thanks for the good info. I will call Lightforce tomorrow and give them the serial number. Then I'll know for sure!

I called LightForce today and talked to Ken. The scope I have is NOT made by them. One useful tidbit is this: All their scopes' serial numbers start with alpha characters. The Custom Superb is a fake. Just like I thought. Thanks for the info!
