Why are there not more BR shooters using Zeiss scopes.. And what are your views on them as a varmint scope ??

Thanks in advance for any advice...

when i bought my conquest 8.5-20 five years ago I was convinced it was a better scope than a similarly priced Leupold....now I'm not so sure. It is a little fuzzy at 100 yds and worse at 200 and 300. For hunting it is fine but reading bullet holes on targets gets a little dicey. I don't think I'd buy another conquest....I think the more expensive zeiss lines are really good but also really expensive.

Not very suitable for BR-----Reticles too course for precision work, and their weight. For varmints probably a good choice for night hunting fox, coyote.Would not be my choice for pd's, gh's, and crows.

Zeiss Conquest 6.5x20 has great turrets and clarity. But 20x is a drawback, when many competitors are 6-24x, although 14-18x power has been plenty for me for varminting. They run about $1000 now, they were running $800 a year or two ago at Carter Country in Houston, TX.
Zeiss Conquest turret clicks are crisper than the Burris Black Diamond.

I really am impressed with the 6x scopes of Swarovski, Bushnell and Burris for varminting. I've lossed several shots because I was zoomed out and they ran up close. They are Wiley after all.
