I'm a new member to this forum. I'm a shooter that has quit shooting for the past 25 years. My past history was that I shot thompson contenders standing in metallic sihouette big bore. I was a AAA shooter and I enjoyed all firearms from 50 cal machine gun down, and everything in between. Thanks to the advice and experience of members of this forum I'm glad to announce that I'm shooting the kind of groups that your custom rifle comes with.

Shooting a 54.18, Anshutz silhouette rifle at 50 yards outdoors. I was able to get 5 shot groups of .119 inch, .182 inch and a four hole group of .026 inch before I choked the last shot. These are the best groups shot out of a five group session, shooting , Eley 10x. Weaver T-16

With the Walter Wood custom 52 Winchester with a 25x , lyman supertarget scope. In five groups I managed a .088 group at fifty yards, plus, .072,. l51 inch and a .135 inch out of five groups shot using Federal Gold Ultra Match ammo along with a wichita front and back rest.

I tested a variety of ammo on 2/16/2010 and it seems that the axiom of you get what you pay for is true. The most expensive ammo shot the best. The moderately priced ammo would shoot four good rounds and throw the fifth.

I just want to quote Sir Isaac Newton,"If I have seen farther than other men, it is because I have stood on the shoulders of giants." thank you for all your experience and advice and I'm proceeding on to my goal of shooting .25 inch at 100 yards outdoor and hope to seek your advice in the future.

Don, I got some flags, can you recommend the best. For a 100 yards you recommend more than 8 flags?

There's no "best" - preference prevails. A flag has only to show you direction and speed in terms you can understand.
