I recently got a larger lathe and need help with barrel reaming. What is the best method if the spindle is 30" front to back. This is a 14 1/2" south bend.
Thanks

If you go over to the Gunsmith Forum, there is a thread running, complete with pictures, with me describing exactly what you want..........jackie

Jackie, you should think about posting this as a blog. Easy to do... as well as some other excellent things you have posted.

The ID of the ring on the barrel is what I call "metal to metal", The OD has about .001 in the trued hole in the lathe spindle.........jackie
