Does anyone have any experience with the Sako 78 HB.
I cant find anything about the guns history build quality or accuracy potential.
The info I could find said the gun was available in .22 LR and .22 Hornet thats about it.

Doug,

Don posted a nice link but not much on the 78.
If you have access to any of the older gun mags there are a couple very good articles on the then new M78.
1. SHOOTING TIMES/April 1979 (Sako's new model 78)
2. GUNS July 1978. (Testing Sako's First .22) The title here is misleading as the model 78 was not Sako's first .22.
3. G&A / May 1972 had an article (SAKO) on the P72 which was the predecessor of the 78.
4. THE RIFLE BOOK / John Walter - Sako section.

Finnscout ................Sporter Wt...............22lr
HB...........................Varmint Wt..............22lr
Magnum............................................ ....22 mag
.22 Hornet............................................ .22 Hornet
Biathalon...................Biathalon............. ....22lr

Discontinued 1984 as too costly to make.
