Gentlemen,
I just received an email a moment ago from Paul Schmid's daughter (Linda), and would like to pass this sad news to you in this forum - that, Paul died suddenly yesterday - Saturday August 30, very early morning. He just had hip surgery on Tuesday August 26 (as scheduled before), and Linda said he actually did very well. He was realeased from the hospital on Friday, and was going to be staying in Linda's house until he could walk good enough to be by himself.
This is a very sad news to me and many of us here.
He's a great man, and a great friend to me. Personally, I even call him "Uncle Paul". I do really missed Him! I can't even resist my tears, to hear this sad news. Within two months or so, I have missed two great friends in the USA -- Shelley Davidson, and now Uncle Paul.
Paul and I, were still comunicating on Monday (by email), just the day before his hip surgery. After that, I did only know (from the receipt for the mails I sent to Him) that he did read my emails on Friday. It really shocking me that Paul passed away so fast...

I will update you with the latest news when I have update from Linda, or other friends.

I am sorry to tell you this here.

With Deepest Condolences,
seb.

I can't believe that my good benchrest buddy is gone. We spent every day together at the IBS Nationals just a few weeks ago. He was so excited about working with the BIG gunsmith lathe he had just received from Grizzly. I know how much shooting and the friends he made within it meant to him. Under a gruff exterior was a guy with a heart of gold that really knew how to be a good friend. Paul is now with his wife, who he missed so so much, and his daughter who left this world way way too young.

Paul, I know you are looking down at us and I want you to know I will miss you every time I go to a match. I'm going to have to break in another buddy to tell me how badly I am doing and then shoot worse to make me feel better, LOL. Ah hell, I couldn't get anyone else to do it.

Shoot all zeros,
Al Blackwell

Gentlemen,

Linda Madigan (Paul's daughter) asking me to pass her sincerely thanks to you all here for such wonderful things about Paul Schmid, her loved Father. Your friendship was very important to Paul, and it is uplifting for Linda & Fam to know Paul was liked by so many.
She also says that Paul was loved His Family and all of His Friends were very special to him.

(Linda can read the posts in this forum, however she is not able to post here herselves. She is not a member of this wonderful forum).

Linda, we all here believe that Paul's spirit will always be with us!

Thanks you for trusting me to represent you to say in this forum. I feel honoured.

seb.

PS:
Just for your information here, the funeral will be held on Thursday morning.
There will be a viewing on Wednesday evening.

Thanks you,
seb.

One thing,
I don't know?...but, in case any of you here had orders etc with Paul before this ---or maybe just in case you have paid your order but Paul was not able to send yours (?) --- please let me know. I will try my best to take care any things between You and Paul - that's still not done, or so.
I encourage myself to say this, as I feel owed to Paul Schmid & Linda, very much. I'm sure that Paul was (or would ?) not happy to see that he still feel owed to someone's else. Me, too.
My email is visi@telkom.net. Or if your file is big, please send yours to sebastianlambang@yahoo.com. Please include the details, perhaps receipt etc.
Anyway, please understand that my English is not very well. (English is not my main languange overhere in Indonesia).
Thanks,
seb.

I am stunned to hear of the passing of such a fine man. Paul and I had many conversations in person and by phone and e-mail. Lordy, but I'll miss him.

Paul would allways park his trailer close to my camper at the super shoot. I would stop by and chat with him often. I liked him. I'm very sad right now. Rest in peace Paul.

I haven't been to the SS for a couple of years, it won't be the same with out Paul. I know he lost a fairly young daughter a while back and it's always tough to lose a child. Paul and I think Linda took my wife and I to a nice lunch in Orrville several years ago. He drove me all over Ohio one day looking for parts. I didn't know that Paul had hip problems but, he had that neat little home rig wagon to ride around in. Very nice gentleman. I think he was the good will ambassador for the Super Shoot and Ohier.

Linda, our thoughts and prayers are with you, we are truly diminished.

Linda just finds that there was one order not shipped, and it will be shipped on Tuesday September 1 -- To: Scott Moser, from Brooklyn Park, Minnesota.
She asks me to let you know about this. Unfortunately I don't know you/your email.
Wilbur & Moderators, please apologise me to post about this in this forum.

Thanks,
seb.

Again, just in case there is others - things that's still not done or shipped (etc) by Paul, please let me know. I will take care of it for you & Paul.
Linda & Fam might not be able to open Paul's emails, and I know she is very sad and busy at this time. It's my responsibility to take care of you.

Just a side note from me here, that financially, Paul and I do not owe to each others. I told Linda when I called her on Monday, that Paul owed NOTHING to me! He even helped me so much, indeed. Paul Shmid was a great man, a man of honour, a great Uncle and a great friend in the same time! I am proud with Him.... God Bless You, Uncle Paul!

Quick to reach in his box with help and a smile to boot. He loved those little motors didn't he? Interesting man to say the least.

A significant loss indeed.

Thanks you, Dick.

I forgot to say thanks you to you, Paul Fielder.

You're right, Wilbur. Paul gave me a very nice gift (a little motor that he made himselves) when I was at the SS with him. I love it. I will keep it forever. We talked much, about many things, about US cultures, how I should say hello etc to the shooters next to me, etc etc.... He was a great mentor to me.....sorry I can't say more now, I am very sad here.....thanks you all, seb.

I just talked to Hobie Bond at Kelbly's. For those who would send a sympathy card for her family.
