This is the first time I've seen this video and it just goes to show you that our guns are not safe from the Government.

I believe the NRA fought this hanious injustice of our 2nd amendment rights in federal court and nailed Nagen and his boyz for this illegal act and a new law was imposed that is to prevent this from ever happening again, I wonder what does it mean "law" many things are illegal by law but can be in your hand in less than an hour. Are we secure?, I doubt it....

This post Katrina act by our law officers just shows how legally corrupt the law officials may become. They were never in danger, but the citizens were in danger. The law officers and the local politicians just mirror the same mindset seen in nazi Germany.

After hearing the stories about this right after Katrina and now seeing it on video, I am more convinced than ever(not that I needed more convining) of the Right to Keep and Bear Arms. A natural catastophe could happen to any city and I would hate to imagine a police dept. confiscating all fiearms while lawless thugs roamed the streets at will with THEIR guns. Kind of scary isn't it. I would think even the most Anti-gun people would agree but the ones in leadership who don't makes one think what their real motive is... We must never give up the fight. Keep this in mind when we visit the polls this Nov. and any other time we vote. Happy 4th. John.

These Nazis invaded homes and confiscated weapons from law abiding citizens. Did they then protect these citizens or did they leave the folks to their own devices. I think the commanders of these Nazis should be arrested and charged from each citizens complaint.

RS, Our forefathers tried to protect each of our citizens freedom by having a Second Amendment. This was to not only protect ourselves from outlaws but also to protect us from the slime balls of the Govenment as seen in the NATIONAL GUARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope to never need THAT KIND OF PROTECTION when they steal my firearms and my freedom.

There is no law to protect the citizen when martial law is enacted.

The Constitution is the law. All of your twists, maybes, and other excuses do not excuse these Nazi pretenders. Their and your lame reasons for the confiscation of firearms FROM THE HOMES of citizens does not wash. These are a bunch of lame brained, drones who were taking orders from similar Nazi drones.

Good answer!!
The government is trying to see what the people will allow before they say enough is enough.
They are training our police departments in military ways.
How many policeman and military people will help take our guns away.
Will a number of terrorist attacks across the country lead to martial law.
Can you and your family wait for someone to respond to your call for help.
I don't know about anyone else but I don't want to live my life on my knee's because we gave up our hard earned rights.
Ask the Jews what the next step is.

RS, your lame assumption that this site is for Republicans only is an insult!!!!
I am a registered Democrat who has been trying to save this woebegone party for decades. I believe in the Constitution and I love my fellow Americans but I despise the socialist influence pervading the Democratic party.
I will not miss your absence because of your illogical comments.

There is a new law on the books to make sure this does not happen again.

Ohio HB 508, introduced by Representative Ron Hood, is designed to criminalize the confiscation of legally owned firearms by law enforcement during a state of emergency. The key phrase in the bill is "legally owned." There is no prohibition in the bill for the confiscation of illegal guns or guns used in the commission of a crime.

Asked about his bill, Hood said, "New Hampshire recently introduced a piece of legislation that every state should seriously consider for the protection of our 2nd and 10th Amendment rights. My bill, like New Hampshire's, would make it a felony for law enforcement officials, including the Feds, to confiscate lawfully owned and lawfully carried firearms from Ohioans during a state of emergency."

It is a shame that such a law is required to protect the civil rights citizens who are only trying to defend their life, family and property. Supporting such a bill is the obligation of anyone concerned with protecting private property and civil rights.

Confiscating legally owned firearms during a state of emergency, when they are needed the most, contradicts the very rule of law that binds American society. Supporters of such an immoral act are not much better than the criminal who waits to prey on the disarmed populace.

Hopefully, lawmakers will pass HB508 as quickly as possible so Ohioans won't be left to fend for themselves in the same manner as residents of the Gulf Coast. Representative Hood should also be commended for taking the first step in defending the rights of law-abiding citizens.
