Just wondering....If I sent in a Leupold that does not have a locking ring to Gene to be frozen. Is there a fix you can do or that I can do to add a locking ring or mechanism?

I am no longer in the scope freezing business, at least for the general public. It is a simple matter that I have too much to do as it is running a business and trying to shoot. I do not like "going to work" when my regular work day ends.
Freezing those scopes was a exersise in insanity, most shooters have no idea the headaches involved in just working on those things, especially when you have no source for parts. Try calling Weaver and ask them to send you an erector tube assembly, or a lens aasembly that has stripped threads.
Plus, you cannot believe how much of a hassle it can be dealing with some people. I guess I have a low tolerance for stupidity.
There is a shooter in Houston, a retired machinist, John Hicks, who wishes to perform this service. I told him I would help him make his tools, and show him the "ins and outs" of freezing scopes. He and Gene are suppose to be getting together on this.
As for the old Leupold, I see no way to add a locking ring. The locking assembly on other Leupolds is incorporated in the lens carrier assembly, which just screws onto the scope body. ........jackie

Thanks Jackie. At least business is good, that's always positive. And I sure know what you mean about some people. Dealing with them have made me a little reclusive the last few years.

thanks again,

I have seen locking rings added to Leupold scopes by Jim Carstenson. I don't have Jims email address but someone here will.
